As a filmmaker, I’m exploring the visible universe.
As a translator, I’m immerging into the worlds of others.
As a writer, I’m creating new ones.
I’ve studied comparative literature and philosophy in Germany and France.
For 30 years, I’ve been working as a journalist and documentary filmmaker for German and French public TV (Arte, ARD, ZDF), as well as museums and government agencies. I like to portray people – ordinary and famous people, with a lot of commitment or just a great spleen.
My films have been awarded with the French-German Prize for Journalism and the Juliane Bartel Media Prize.
I’m interviewing a lot of people all over the world – not only in German, but in English, French and Spanish. I’m also translating from these languages into my mother tongue: articles, essays, books, film scripts.
Filming and texting is my daily routine.
